Endless Mountains Theatre Company (EMTC) is pleased to announce that the Endless Mountains will soon be alive with “The Sound of Music” as one of the world’s most famous musicals will come to the Blue Ridge High School June 23, 24, and 25 2006. “The Sound of Music” is Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic, heart-warming story of love, courage, and spirit that is bursting with song.

For those unfamiliar with the story, “The Sound of Music” tells the tale of a high-spirited Austrian governess, who wins the heart of a thick-skinned widower by bringing sunshine into the lives of his children. The story is set during the Nazi expansion into Austria, and the Trapp family’s bravery comes to the foreground as the clouds gather over their homeland. It is a show that theatre-lovers the world over can never get enough of, with songs by Broadway’s most celebrated classic team - Rodgers and Hammerstein.

The production is under the direction of Tim Hutchins, who has been directing shows at EMTC for the past four seasons and who counts among his accomplishments another Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, “Cinderella”. Mr. Hutchins is pleased to have the support of the great team of volunteers that make up the cast and crew of “The Sound of Music”. Don’t miss this full-scale production of a beloved show!

Now in its eigth year of bringing quality entertainment to Susquehanna County, EMTC will present ‘The Sound of Music” June 23-24 at 7:00 pm and June 25 at 3:00 pm, at Blue Ridge High School auditorium (New Milford, PA).
