Misfit Girls Sing for a Cause

The Misfit Girls will present a benefit performance of “Hear My Song,” a musical revue on Saturday, July 29th at 8 p.m. at Arts YOUniverse (the old Stegmier mansion) at 156 South Franklin Street in Wilkes-Barre. Alice Y. Fink-Lyons, Wendy Popeck, and Heidi Germaine Schnappauf of the local theatre group the Misfit Players will be singing songs both popular and Broadway while accompanied by their musical director, Aimee Radics. All proceeds will go to benefit the Yurchisin family of Dallas.
Amy Yurchisin, a 2006 graduate of Dallas High School, suffers from dystonia, a neurological movement disorder characterized by involuntary muscle contractions, among other physical and emotional difficulties. Her family has been traveling to and from a medical facility in Chicago, IL. for treatments similar to those used in treating patients with Parkinson’s disease.
After meeting Maria Yurchisin (Amy’s mother), Misfit Players founder Heidi Germaine Schnappauf decided that this summer, she wanted to help in whatever way she could. Having put on a show every summer for some charity or cause since she was 16, Schnappauf (now 22) decided to produce a show for this wonderful, kind and loving family.
Please come and support the Misfit Girls and this wonderful cause!
