Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre

The Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre will kick off their 84th season with The Wizard of Oz at their North Main Street theatre in Wilkes-Barre. Performance dates are September 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17. Performances begin at 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays; 3pm on Sundays. Tickets are $15.

Based on the classic 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz tells the story of a brave young girl named Dorothy who runs away from home only to find out that it is the place she has longed for all along. Decades of audiences have loved its cast of recognizable characters from the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion to the Wicked Witch and the Lollipop Guild.

The stage version includes the same classic score as the movie with favorites like Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Ding Dong- the Witch is Dead and If I Only Had a Brain.

The Wizard of Oz is the perfect family-friendly treat for the young and young at heart.
