The Northeast Theatre’s Fall Fund Drive Update

Last Tuesday afternoon (September 26) The Northeast Theatre launched an emergency fund drive to help with last year’s moving expenses. Those expenses were supposed to have been covered by large contributions from business and community entities. For various reasons, much of that funding never materialized, so the Theatre went to cyberspace for help. The Drive, just six days old and so far focusing on e-mail contacts (with a lot of wonderful help from regional media, thank you!) has raised over $15,500. We have received contributions from California, Nova Scotia, South Carolina, Virginia, Ontario, New York City, Connecticut, and Paris, to name just a few. There has also been a gratifying response from Lackawanna, Wyoming, and Luzerne counties.

The goal of the Drive is $45,000, and we are, as of this morning, over one-third of the way there. Thank you for your support in this, and we appreciate whatever further coverage you can give. Please include mention of our web site address (www.thenortheasttheatre.us), whenever possible, and that attendance is also a potent means of support.
