Red Shoes Dance Company Presents an Evening of Folk Dancing

On Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at the Performance Space at the Jermyn (The Northeast Theatre), 326 Spruce Street, 2nd Floor, Scranton, The Red Shoes Dance Company presents an Evening of East European Folk Dances.
The company, instructed by Master Teacher Valeria Bogokina Myers, formerly of the Kirov Ballet in Russia, is an artistic company that incorporates classical ballet technique with historical and folkloric dances from around the world.
The company’s repertoire includes Argentinean and Russian dances, Gypsy dances and Polkas.
The Red Shoes Dance Company is made up of approximately 15 local dancers from ages 7 through adult. Many of the dancers are Marywood University and University of Scranton students, as well as public and private elementary, middle and high school students from various ethnic and religious backgrounds in NE Pennsylvania.
Valeria Bogokina Myers and The Red Shoes Dance Company passionately believe in the artistic expression of various religious and cultural backgrounds and welcomes experienced and inexperienced people of all ages.
The December 16 performance is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. A free will donation will be accepted to benefit The Northeast Theatre.
