The Gaslight Theatre Company Presents “Incorruptible”
The Gaslight Theatre Company presents Michael Hollinger’s dark comedy Incorruptible for the next two weekends.
With all their miracles gone, things are looking really hopeless for the monks of Priseaux, France. It is 1250 A.D., but the Dark Ages are way too dark for these hapless brothers. The wheelbarrow is a mere fantasy. The candle shop went up in flames. The river flooded - again. And that’s only the beginning! Saint Foy, the monastery’s patron saint, hasn’t worked a miracle in 13 years. As a result, both locals and pilgrims have stopped visiting the monastery and paying to view the saint’s remains, leaving the brothers flat broke. Their last hope is that a visit from the Pope will bring a parade of the faithful, cash in hand. But when a rival church steals their thunder by claiming to have the relics of Saint Foy, which are indeed working miracles, the monks are about to give up until a shady one-eyed minstrel shows them the way to salvation.
Gaslight’s Incorruptible will be performed on January 4,5,6 and 11,12,13 at the King’s College Theatre. All shows
