The Corner Bistro Dinner Theater open’s it’s 19th Dinner Theater Season in February 2007. The intimate dinner theater is proud to bring another premiere to the stage before it opens in New York later this year.

“Show Business is a drag!” Those words have never been more true in the world premiere of Kevin Hammonds’ newest musical KISS AND MAKEUP. The creator of MR. CHRISTMAS, GRANDPA TONY’S FUNERAL and many other Bistro favorites has written a brand new musical, and the Corner Bistro Dinner Theater will be the first theatre to ever produce this hysterical new musical comedy farce, prior to its New York Production. Written for Broadway stars who have already participated in informal readings, KISS AND MAKEUP is making its trial run on the Corner Bistro Stage.

This brand new, sidesplitting “show within a show” takes place on and off-stage at a fledgling theatre during a cursed production’s opening night. Nerves are shot, but when this rag tag team of community players learn that The President Of The United States is attending the opening night performance, the leading lady cracks under pressure, forcing the highly versatile leading actor to play both the male and female lead. Matters are bad enough, but add to the mix a secret service agent who longs to be on stage himself, a socially inept lawyer who is cast in the show thirty minutes before opening night, and a sweet old lady who turns into a habitual liar whenever she gets nervous, and the fact that the leading man is also playing the leading lady doesn’t seem very strange at all.

Book and lyrics are written by Kevin Hammonds, with music and additional lyrics by composer Mark Weiser who has written scores for the screen including FRANCESCA PAIGE (Sundance), IT AIN’T LOVE (Cinemax)and A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME. His musical projects include THE CURE (Larson Finalist), IVANHOE (TRU Musicals Series Winner) and THE GREAT BRIDGE.

The show will run February 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 17, & 18 On Februrary 14th a special Valentines performance of KISS AND MAKEUP will be presented all patrons during this performance will receive a special Valentines Gift for attending the Valentines performance. On Wednesday (14th) and Friday and Saturday performances the doors open at 6:30 PM followed by the Buffet and Show. On Sundays the doors open at 2:00 PM followed by the Buffet and Show.
