American Idol Ruben Studdard Comes to Sherman Theater For Benefit Concert

Ruben Studdard to Perform at the Sherman TheaterThe Sherman Theater, located in downtown Stroudsburg, has teamed up with Leadership Pocono and S&K Construction to host a star-studded benefit concert on June 30 at 8 pm. The event features American-Idol winner Ruben Studdard, along with special guests, and will support local nonprofit organizations such as the YMCA, Women’s Resources, and Leadership Pocono.

With over 53,000 people attending the Sherman since the beginning of its restoration process, Leadership Pocono approached the facility because of its downtown location and proven ability to secure top name artists and produce quality events.

“The Sherman Theater is more than just a regional performing arts center it also an economic generator for the Pocono Mountains,” said Sherman Theater Executive Director Richard Berkowitz. “It has always been our goal to be an added asset to the community and this event is good opportunity for us to showcase our value.”

Built in the 1920s, the renovated Sherman Theater is now equipped to present many of today’s biggest shows, while also serving as a resource for the entire community.
