Intermediate Unit to Offer Theatre Classes

The Luzerne Intermediate Unit is offering some courses for students this summer as part of their Summer Institute for Advanced Learners.

Many classes are being offered, but one class that might interest the young theater lovers is
“All about Theater.”

Explore all aspects of theatre including dramatic icebreakers, improvisations and trust-building techniques; character preparation; audition preparation; and an overview of the technical elements of theatre.

All courses are scheduled for the week of June 18-22. They run for 90 minutes, Monday to Friday and are offered once or twice per morning according to the following schedule (unless otherwise indicated):

8:45-10:15 Period 1 classes
10:30-12:00 Period 2 classes

The course is being offered for 7th through 12th grade students.

Students may choose to enroll in a Period 1 class, or a Period 2 class. The cost is $75 for one class. Payment includes a $15 non-refundable registration fee.

The class will be taught by local theater actor and Coughlin High School drama director
