Music Box Players Present “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”
Big Business was never funnier than it will be at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes Street in Swoyersville, when the hilarious 1961 Pulitzer Prize winning musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying opens May 4th. The Tony Award winning musical has a book by Abe Burrows and music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. Additional dates are May 5, 6, 10 to 13 and 17 to 20. The Music Box Players are also offering a Mother’s Day Special - Sunday May 13th - All Mothers: $25 for Dinner and Show!
Most recently revived on Broadway starring Matthew Broderick and Megan Mullally, this uproarious farce tells the story of ordinary window washer J. Pierrpont Finch and his meteoric rise to the top of the corporate ladder and his subsequent fall from grace. Created decades before such workplace comedies as NBC’s smash hit The Office, How to Succeed smartly depicts the funniest stereotypes ever to gather around the office watercooler.
The large cast includes John Owen Kennedy as the hero, Finch, Katie Bower as the lovestruck Rosemary; Dane Bower as Frump, the boss’ spoiled nephew, Michael Gallagher as the befuddled boss, J.B. Biggley, Jennifer Rogers as the office seductress- Hedy LaRue and Mary Dower as the boss’ personal secretary, Miss Jones. Making a comeback to the Music Box is Froggy 101 favorite Kelly Green, playing Rosemary’s best friend, Smitty. Members of the World Wide Wicket Company are played by Ted Anderson, Ron Araya, Kevin Costley, Sandy Hopkins, Sarah Jones, Bill Lipski, H. Blaine McKeown, George Thomas and Dan Yager.
The show is directed and choreographed by Debbie Zehner with additional choreography by Kevin Costley. Musical Direction is by Kendra Balmer, sets & lighting are by Michael Gallagher and costumes are by K.D. Love.
HOW TO is a dinner theatre production featuring an extensive buffet catered by A TOUCH OF CLASS AT THE PALACE. The theatre also features a full cash bar. Tickets are now on sale for Dinner & Show or Show Only.
For Mother’ Day, Sunday May 13th, all mothers will be admitted for Dinner and Show for $25.00 (a $10.00 discount).
