The Pocono Choral Society Presents “Music For a New Century”

Move over Mozart, roll over Beethoven - there’s a group of renowned composers living in the 21st century destined to become the legendary great masters of the future with their innovative ideas and artful musicality. The Pocono Choral Society has the inside track on these contemporary composers as they feature, in concert, several of these writer’s original choral pieces whose origins can be traced no farther back than the year 2000. Hence, the title of this concert celebration - Music For A New Century which can be heard in all its creative brilliance on Sunday, June 3rd at 3:00 pm at the beautifully restored Sherman Theater. Among the stars of tomorrow are the Choral Society’s own music director, Jerrold Fisher whose creative genius will be on display with the world premiere of his Songs Of Youth And Discovery featuring the poetry of Lawrence Leritz.
