Shawnee Playhouse Summer Season Grand Opening!

The Shawnee Playhouse 28th Season opens this weekend with the
award-winning comedy THE FOREIGNER on Saturday June 2 at 8:00 pm and Sunday June 3 at 2:00 pm.

Winner of two Obie and two Outer Critics Circle Awards, THE FOREIGNER,
by Larry Shue, is often described as “one of the funniest comedies ever
written.”

While on vacation to a rustic fishing lodge, Charlie Baker finds himself
too shy to speak. His friend Froggy LeSueur solves the problem by
introducing Charlie as a foreigner who understands no English. The
Inn’s guests feel free to discuss their secrets and scandals in front of
him, and a pair of conniving evil doers unwittingly expose their dirty
plot. At risk of revealing or endangering himself, Charlie is helpless.
Or is he? A wildly comic series of twists and turns leads to a
startling resolution and nonstop hilarity.
