Magic and Family Fun Benefit Local Charities at the Sherman Theater
The Sherman Theater, located in downtown Stroudsburg presents “A Night of Magic†on June 16 at 7 pm. The event features three nationally known magicians and benefits the Salvation Army and Penn Tech Search and Rescue.
Perfect for celebrating the end of the school year, a “A Night of Magic” is a family show featuring local residents and magicians: Mark Clark, Mark Mysterrio and Bill Wisch. Each specializes in a unique act that is sure to provide a night of varied entertainment.
Mark Clark has been performing for over thirty years and his show has been seen on stages in St. Lucia, Las Vegas and Mexico. Clark began his career at 16 years old and has worked with such acts as: Penn Jillette, David Copperfield, Rocco and fellow “A Night of Magic†performer Bill Wisch.
Mark Mysterrio is an alumnus of East Stroudsburg High School. Soon after graduating he began his career as a traveling sideshow magician and continues to do so today. He also uses his magic to benefit others and raise money for charities. In 2002 he held a benefit show for a fellow magician who had been injured when a trick went wrong. Mysterrio also broke a world record when he laid on a bed on 6-inch gutter spikes for 283 hours and 5 minutes.
Bill Wisch has been a full-time magician since 1975. Wisch has received the “Star of Magic†award, performed at The Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA and co-created and co-directed The International Conservatory of Magic – the world’s largest internet magic school. In addition to these achievements, Wisch spent three years researching the showmanship talents of P.T. Barnum, George M. Cohan, Mohammed Ali and Harry Houdini and turned his researched findings into a one-man show, “The Magic Word is Showmanship.†He is now a recognized pioneer in the study of showmanship.
