    September 6 - 9: The Northeast Theatre presents Acting Alone: a festival celebration of the monodrama - Shirley Valentine by Willy Russell, with Agnes Cummings, produced by Margo Theatre Company - Th at 7, Fr & Sa at 8, Su at 3. Performance Space at the Hotel Jermyn, 326 Spruce St., 2nd Flr, Downtown Scranton. Shirley’s a middle-aged housewife, who wonders what happened to her life. When her best friend wins an all expenses paid vacation to Greece for two, she begins to see the world, and herself, in a different light.     September 13 - 16: The Northeast Theatre presents Acting Alone: a festival celebration of the monodrama - Go, Irish: the Purgatory Diaries of Jason Miller by Tom Flannery and Rodger Jacobs, with Bob Hughes, produced by KikoMusic - Th at 7, Fr & Sa at 8, Su at 3. Performance Space at the Hotel Jermyn, 326 Spruce St., 2nd Flr, Downtown Scranton. The Pulitzer Prize winning playwright and Oscar nominated actor confronts his choices and avoidances in life as he looks back from the perspective of the great beyond. A rollicking, witty, wrenching, fiery look at Scranton’s favorite (and most controversial) son.     September 20 - 23: The Northeast Theatre presents Acting Alone: a festival celebration of the monodrama - Between Take Off and Landing, created and performed by Michael Walsh, and produced by Manhattan Redhead - Th at 7, Fr & Sa at 8, Su at 3. Performance Space at the Hotel Jermyn, 326 Spruce St., 2nd Flr, Downtown Scranton. The passengers of Aer Lingus Flight 104, traveling from Dublin to New York, are stranded in Gander, Newfoundland, and along with many of the other 47 transatlantic flights that were diverted that 11th day of September, 2001, turn the remote Canadian town of 10,000 into the largest makeshift airport in the world.     September 22: Griffin Conservatory of The Northeast Theatre presents a Master Class with Michael Walsh: Being Specific - 10 am to 3 pm. Performance Space at the Hotel Jermyn, 326 Spruce St., 2nd Flr, Downtown Scranton. Giving specific meaning to everything we do on stage or in front of the camera enlivens every acting experience. Mr. Walsh illustrates the power of this simple tool any actor can use to deepen a performance. Through exercises, monologues, and short scenes, students take their abilities to the next level and become the actor everyone wants to watch.
