Cast Announced for “West Side Story” at Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre

ltwbwss1Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre proudly announces the production staff and cast of its upcoming production of West Side Story which kicks off the theatre’s 85th anniversary season September 8, 2007 and continues on September 9, 14, 15, and 16 2007.

West Side Story is under the direction of Dave Baloga, with musical direction by Linda Houck, choreography by Sean T. Harris, technical direction and set design by Joe Sheridan and costumes by Lisa Yvonne Fink. The cast consists of Christie Williams as Maria and Dave Baloga as Tony, “The Jets and their Girls” will be played by Lou Lyons, Adam Orseck, Taylor Del Vecchio, Kyle Boyes, Tom DeMichele, Michael Radzwilla, Mark DeFrain, Shana Weinstock, Laura Mitchell, Michelle Canaboy, Megan Brady, Regecca Bogdanovich, Jody Kocher, Beth Guarnieri and Sarah Anne Kennelly, “The Sharks and their Girls” will be played by Kevin Holbert, Juan Martinez, Daquan McLean, Mason Rieport, Josh DeMilta, Thomas Wilkins, David Baker, Alice Lyons, Ashlee Danko, Katie Manahan, Sarah Zulkoski, Alisha Espinosa and Heather Bednarski. Rounding out the ensemble cast will be Chas Beleski, Jeff Fremont, Joe Gilbert and William Ulichney.

West Side Story, now celebrating its 50th anniversary, is a Shakespearean conflict set in the slums of New York City and based on Romeo and Juliet. It is one of the world’s greatest love stories, where two young ideallistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the “American” Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.

Performance dates for West Side Story are Saturday, September 8 and 15, Friday, September 14 at 8:00pm, and Sunday, September 9 and 16, 2007 at 3:00pm.
