WEST SIDE STORY at Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre

Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre kicked off its 85th Anniversary Season last night with the West Side Storyand continues its run this afternoon at 3pm. West Side Story is the musical tale of two young idealistic lovers caught between warring street gangs, the American Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time - book by Arthur Laurents, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, music by Leonard Bernstein.

Show dates are September 8, 14, 15 at 8 pm and September 9 and 16 at 3 pm. All tickets cost $18. The show is directed by Dave Baloga; musical direction by Linda Houck; technical direction and set design by Joe Sheridan; and choreography by Sean T. Harris.

PLEASE NOTE: All Little Theatre 2007-2008 season shows are two weekends. The first weekend opens with a Saturday 8 pm performance and Sunday 3 pm matinee. The second weekend is a Friday and Saturday 8 pm performance and the shows close with a Sunday 3 pm matinee.
