Auditions Announced for The Diary of Anne Frank at Little Theatre of Wilkes-BarreThe Diary of Anne Frank is an adaptation of the 1947 book by the same name, edited by Anne’s father, Otto Frank, which tells the story of a Jewish girl in Holland who hid with her family from the Nazis during WWII. The play chronicles over 2 years of claustrophobic and tense living with her parents, sister, a second family with a son around Anne’s age, and a middle-aged dentist who has little tolerance for Anne’s exuberance.

Anne’s diary speaks not only of day to day life during wartime, but also the familiar angst of all teenagers. This award-winning play, (1956 Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award, Critics Circle Award, and virtually every other coveted prize of the theatre.) along with the diary on which it is based, has been viewed as an insightful and timeless portrait of courage, dignity, and perseverance.
