OrsonGroupOctober 4 -21: Prohibitive Standards

The Northeast Theatre and Marywood University’s Department of Theatre present Prohibitive Standards, a world premiere created by Zuppa del Giorno and Steve Deighan (author of Legal Snarls). The Northeast Theatre’s modern commedia troupe, Zuppa del Giorno, take you back to 1933; the night prohibition ended, a new life began. Prohibitive Standards plays at Marywood’s Sette La Verghetta Center for the Performing Arts, October 4th through the 7th, and at Performance Space at the Hotel Jermyn, 326 Spruce Street, Second Floor, Downtown Scranton, October 10th through the 21st. October 16: Music in My Soul… And More

The Northeast Theatre’s Spruce Street Cabaret presents Judy Jaymes in Music in My Soul… and More. Songs from the 1940’s to the present, featuring those by such artists as Rosemary Clooney, Dinah Washington, Louis Armstrong, and Ella Fitzgerald… plus some original songs from Judy’s current recording. October 31 - November 11: The O. Henry Conspiracy

The Northeast Theatre presents The O. Henry Conspiracy, a revival of the 2001 hit created by Richard Grunn and Duane Noch. A tiny, two-man epic that imagines what may have happened between a homeless Irish story-teller and a young reporter out to make his mark in New York City, who share a connection with the great short story writer, O. About The Northeast Theatre

The Northeast Theatre is an Equity theatre company in its sixteenth season of production. Plays in the past year have included Lackawanna Rails: Electric City Suite, The Key, Boston Marriage, The Poor of Scranton, Almost, Maine, A Woman of Independent Means, An American Wife and Prohibitive Standards. The Theatre received Best Play of 2004 for Legal Snarls and Best Theatre for both 2005 and 2006 from the Electric City Readers’ Poll.
