BTE’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL Features Students on Both Sides of the Curtain

In November and December, the Alvina Krause Theatre in downtown Bloomsburg will be filled with the sounds of children both in the audience and on stage when Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble presents the holiday classic, A Christmas Carol as part of its 30th anniversary season. Appropriate for all ages, BTE has special school matinees scheduled for the following dates: Nov. 27, 28, 29, Dec. 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20, all at 10:00 a.m. Matinees fill quickly; several dates are already sold-out.

Auditions for YOUNG PEOPLE ON BROADWAY Announced at Music Box

CALLING ALL YOUNG PERFORMERS OF NEPA (AGES 8-18). Get ready for the first big event of the Music Box Season- YOUNG PEOPLE ON BROADWAY! Auditions are set for November 26th and November 28th at 7 p.m. Bring sheet music of a song of your choice, an accompanist will be provided. Performance dates are January 11th, 12th and 13th 2008 at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse. And, there’s no tuition fee. The Music Box is located at 196 Hughes Street in Swoyersville. Spotlight Awards Comes to Sherman Theater

The Sherman Theater announces the creation of the Spotlight Awards. The 2008 Sherman Theater Spotlight Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA. The initial awards ceremony will recognize and reward exceptional accomplishments in the production and performance of musical theater in the local high schools of Monroe, Pike, Wayne and Carbon Counties of Pennsylvania.

Touring Production of Country Western Musical Always . . . Patsy Cline Comes To Binghamton Area

The touring production of Always . . . Patsy Cline, being brought to the area by Chenango River Theatre, will be presented from November 15 - 25. The production stars gospel recording artist (and former Miss America) Kellye Cash. Kellye is legendary country star Johnny Cash’s niece, and has performed throughout the country.

Auditions Announced for Misfit Players Musical Review

Mark Your Calendars! The Misfit Players will hold auditions for their January 18-20 musical review in December. This year’s review will be “The Songs of Disney and Broadway.” All proceeds from the review will benefit the Coughlin High School Drama Club of Wilkes-Barre. Auditions will be Sunday and Monday, December 9 & 10 at 7:30 PM in the Coughlin High School Auditorium, 80 N. Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. The review will be directed by Alice Lyons with Musical Direction by Brenda Nighbert. The review is open to students from ages 8-18.
