Gabriel Alegria’s Afro-Peruvian Sextet
Presented By: Moravian College Music Dept. & Institute
Location: Foy Hall
Trumpeter/composer Gabriel Alegria combines his own distinctive approach to American Jazz with the music of black costal Peru. Afro-Peruvian instruments such as cajon (box drum) and quijada (jawbone), along with spectacular passages of zapateo criollo tap dancing enhance the ensemble’s rich texture. Sponsored, in part, by Jazz Peru International.

This workshop for artists and arts business owners covers development of the business plan, understanding basic accounting practices, taxes and insurance needs. The workshop will feature two presenters: Stephen Phillips, C.P.A., F.L.M.I. of Cunningham, Porter and Phillips, Certified Public Accountants and another presenter TBA. 5:30-8pm.
