The Sherman Theater, located in downtown Stroudsburg, announces the much anticipated return of Bob Weir and RatDog to its stage April 1, 2008. This marks yet another big-name act coming out to support the Sherman Theater’s Capital Campaign during its transition to a Non-Profit Regional Performing Arts Center.

Brought back by deafening demand! Those who saw Bob Weir and RatDog in November 2006 at the Sherman Theater could not get enough of the group’s amazing vocals and signature rhythms. “Fans were literally climbing the walls to get their hands on these tickets,” says Richard W. Berkowitz, Executive Director of the Sherman Theater.

Bob Weir already has a secure place in rock history as the Grateful Dead’s co-vocalist and as what Andrew Clarke (in one of England’s leading newspapers, The Independent) called the genre’s “greatest, if most eccentric rhythm guitarist.” After the death of the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia in 1995, Weir brought together a lineup featuring drummer Jay Lane, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, lead guitarist Mark Karan, reeds man Kenny Brooks, and bassist Robin Sylvester that became RatDog .

As one of only 13 stops on the RatDog spring tour, the Sherman Theater is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the band and Bob Weir, offering only 1500 tickets for this show. An exclusive Pre-show Party will grant a limited number of guests access to lobby entertainment, appetizer buffet, a collector’s cup and early access to the auditorium.

The show will also feature the raffle of a one of a kind, custom made Martin acoustic guitar autographed by Bob Weir, a gift from Mr. Weir to benefit the Capital Campaign for the Sherman Theater.

And the party won’t end with the last set. The venue gets mobile with Post-show events at three downtown Stroudsburg restaurants, all within walking distance: Front Row, Siamsa and Sarah Street Grill. Bob Weir & RatDog ticket stubs will be required for admission to these events as well as to access special hotel rates at Pocono Inne Town and Budget Inn in Stroudsburg. Details for these special events and deals will be available on shermantheater.com .

Tickets for Bob Weir and Ratdog are $38.50 and $55.50 and are available at shermantheater.com or by calling the theater box office at 570.420.2808. All seats are general admission and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m..
