Music Box Sponsors First Theater Workshop for Young Adults

The Music Box Repertory Company will begin its first MUSICAL THEATER WORKSHOP for young adults, sessions beginning on Tuesday, March 25 from 6 to 8 PM at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, Pa. The workshop is for students, ages 13 to 18. 2 classes will be held weekly through June 19th, with a musical to be performed by the students for the public on June 20, 21, and 22.

Special emphasis will be placed on the rehearsal and preparation for mounting a musical play. Students will learn techniques in acting, improvisation, mime, dance and voice. There will also be sessions dedicated to how scenery, lighting, props, and costumes enhance the musical theater experience. Several instructors under the direction of area renowned director and actress, Debbie Zehner, will share their expertise and experiences with the students.

A musical will be chosen during the workshop that best displays the talents of the enrolled students. Those interested in enrolling need not have any previous stage experience.
