The Shawnee Playhouse presents NUNSENSE, the all time favorite musical comedy, opening Saturday July 19 at 8:00 pm.

A riotous musical revue packed with hilarious, show-stopping song and dance numbers is the only hope for the Little Sisters of Hoboken. The convent is desperately short of funds after a tragic cooking accident, and must raise money to bury their departed Sisters. With faith, optimism, and good humor the nuns pool their talents and pray for the best.

“NUNSENSE is a delight,” says director Kim Moore. “One of the funniest shows I’ve ever directed. It’s wildly comic but never irreverent, high spirited good clean fun.”

NUNSENSE has become an international phenomenon, translated into at least 26 languages with more than 6,000 productions worldwide. The original New York production won four OCC Awards, including best off-Broadway musical.

The Shawnee Playhouse’s 29th Season continues throughout the summer with the high-spirited FAME: THE MUSICAL, the charming children’s play PETER PAN, world-famous drama THE DINING ROOM, Neil Simon’s comedy STAR SPANGLED GIRL, and Tony Award winner MORNING’S AT SEVEN.
